Sadly we have lost two good friends of St Oswald's in the last 2 weeks of October.  It was the funeral of Joyce Taylor on Friday, 21st October.  Joyce has been a long serving member of St Oswald's Church, and was closely involved in the Mother's Union.  On Wednesday, 26th October the funeral of David Jones was held.  David was a regular worshipper at St Oswald's and a member of the PCC.

Both Joyce and David will be greatly missed and our sympathies extend to both  families.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED

We would like to make the Church more accessible for people to call in, sit quietly, say a prayer, look round, etc. etc.  To this end we are looking for people who would be prepared to sit in Church for a couple of hours weekly, whilst the building is open.  This could be done on a rota basis.  Whilst sitting as 'guardian' of our building you could read a book or do craft work.  Please contact the Churchwarden via the Contacts page if you have some time available to do this worthwhile volunteering.

LEAD THEFTS - Police are warning that there are increased risks of lead from Church roofs being stolen.  Please be vigilant and if you are passing Church and see anything untoward, please ring the police.  http://bbc.co.uk/go/em/fr/-/news/uk-england-lancashire-13403682
